The Blast is an anarchist agitational project from Turtle Island. We intend to reach people who are otherwise unfamiliar with anarchist politics and also to provide a different perspective for more seasoned readers. For those new to the struggle we present some of the rich stories of what has come before us - tales of our gains and losses, of what is possible in the future and in our daily lives today. For those who have been here a while, we’d like to reimagine familiar issues with a critical eye while maintaining no (or at least shifting) sacred cows.
This project comes in two flavors. The first is a newspaper, which will be published twice a year (starting with an initial print run of 10,000 copies). If you are interested in receiving issues, we invite you to click 'subscribe' at the top of the page. We also maintain an active online presence; one that will endeavor to remain accessible yet critical, approachable yet uncompromising. Our site strives to have a strong editorial focus, forums to discuss ideas and action, and a transparent set of policies around privacy, security, and content. We also make a serious effort to offer new, mostly translated, content in Spanish. We believe a principle of anarchist practice is engaged internationalism, which means that even though many of us do not speak Spanish, we will make attempts to reach across the boundaries between us and our Hispanophone friends.
We welcome submissions from our readers and are actively looking for contributors to this project. If you are interested in writing for The Blast, contact us as firstname.lastname@example.org with a brief description of your interests as an author and some relevant writing samples.
